Kodable
We are using a new app in class, and if they want they can play it at home. It works on ipads, on other tablets you can play it on the internet. It should be easy enough to play at home. I have the class under my name. The class code is: marcel. If you are having trouble, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

3D shapes
Today they started to make 3D shapes out of clay and toothpicks. They are very easy to make at home if they want. Let them show you how.
Wayside Book
We are making our own chapters to make our own book "Sideways Stories from Valcartier Elementary". The students are working hard on their chapters. They made one about themselves. Now they are making on for either Marcel, Ms. Jayne, Ms. Cameron, Ms. Smith or Ms. Carpentier. They are turning out quite good. Our cycle 3 buddies are helping them correct it and type it up.
Party
Tomorrow is Marcel's birthday party! The students are very excited.
If they want to, they can dress colorfully. As I mentioned before parents are welcomed. If you are unable to make it don't worry about it. I suggest to pack something extra to drink for them for the party, I am making a cake and they will most likely want something to drink with it.

The Marcels
The students are happy to discover there was a band called The Marcels. They danced to it, using the swing dance moves they learnt. Get them to show you the moves! This song we danced to came out in 1961.

Cheese fundraiser
We are having a cheese fundraiser. All the profits will go directly to the class of the corresponding student. Depending on how much we raise, I plan to get books and manipulative for the class.
